In its commitment to enhancing academic growth and broadening students’ professional horizons, the Medical Students’ Association facilitated impactful educational and international exchange initiatives throughout the administrative term.
Central to this effort were the Exchange Series, which created opportunities for students to learn from global institutions and broaden their perspectives. These included interactions with Lydia Okyere at Kuopio University in Finland and Nana Afia Serwaa Boadu at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University in South Africa. A major session of the Exchange Series was also successfully held on Saturday, February 2, 2025, providing students with valuable insights into medical education and practice beyond Ghana’s borders.
Further strengthening academic collaboration, the Association partnered with the University of Ghana Medical Students’ Association (UGMSA) to host a joint academic event on The Role of Research in Advancing Mental Health Care Opportunities for Students. This initiative emphasized the importance of research-driven learning and opened discussions on career pathways in mental health.
In addition to international opportunities, the Association proudly hosted two visiting medical students from France — Erille and Mateo — fostering cultural exchange and academic cross-learning within the UCCMSA community.
A major academic milestone of the administration was the creation of the Licensure Study Bank, an extensive resource containing past questions from all Ghanaian medical schools and carefully curated simulated questions to support exam preparation. This tool represents a significant step towards equipping students with accessible academic materials while promoting a culture of collective learning.
Together, these academic and exchange activities reflect the Association’s dedication to nurturing globally minded, well-prepared medical professionals.
