The current administration of the Medical Students’ Association has placed strong emphasis on student-centered development, welfare enhancement, and the improvement of learning and living conditions across campuses. Through a series of targeted projects, the Association has made meaningful contributions to student life, ensuring that members have access to essential resources, supportive environments, and dignified experiences throughout their training.
A major part of this effort includes the Water Project, introduction of the Akwaaba Package, and the White Coat Ceremony Package, all of which were designed to welcome and support students at crucial educational milestones. Additionally, the scrubs and lab coat sales, alongside the official MSA cloth sales, have ensured easy access to affordable academic and ceremonial wear.
Infrastructure improvements also formed a strong pillar of the administration’s work. Key highlights include the securing of a dedicated MSA Room at the Medical Hostel, provision of a freezer, microwave, and cleaning equipment for the satellite hostel in Takoradi, and installation of soap dispensers and continuous supply of liquid soap across Medical Village washrooms. The first aid kit revamp, with over GHS 6,000 worth of essential drugs, further strengthened on-campus health preparedness.
Beyond physical resources, the Association successfully launched the new MSA website, created MSA-branded felted cloth and exercise books, and expanded representation by establishing a new portfolio — the Women’s Commissioner.
In addition, the administration demonstrated commitment to community health advocacy through cervical cancer awareness education and medical screening activities conducted in surrounding communities.
Collectively, these initiatives highlight the Association’s dedication to building a supportive, resource-rich, and inclusive environment for all medical students.
